Egyptian Wedding: Erin and Wael 3
In case you missed it, the wedding entrance that included flames and fireworks is here, while part 1 is here, and part 2 is here.
This wedding is smack full of exciting things. As you'll see in this particular entry there was lots of dancing, a belly dancer, a cake with sparklers, and just a lot of loving.
The belly dancer is of course a highlight for me because it's the first time I've seen in person. I have yet to understand the significance of having a belly dancer in one's wedding, other than, ahem, entertainment. Does it symbolize anything? Is it meant to show that the groom is now so smitten with his bride that no amount of sexy dancing will make him leave her side? Am I overthinking?
In any case, more pictures below!
This was the centerpiece in every table.
Here's Erin and Wael getting ready to enter the dining hall for their first dance as married couple.
Hey Doug.
Here they are dancing!
There was a smoke machine, of course.
The smoke cleared a little bit and revealed the lovely couple.
I knew they were nervous about this dance days before the wedding. But they nailed it.
They looked so happy.
Then they sat on their thrones.
It was time for the first toast. And even the waiters' entrance was a major production.
Then it was time for the other couples to join the bride and groom for a dance.
Steph and Adam.
Mr. and Mrs. Atwell.
Of course I just took pictures.
Erin also embraced Wael's relatives.
Even the kids were having a great time.
Our sweet drink.
And then came the belly dancer who was wild and funny.
Girl is working it.
I'm surprised how everything was kept so uhm intact.
In theory this could have been awkward. But it was just fun.
I have nothing more to say about this. Except, hello kids at the back.
Well, she really does enjoy this particular move.
Posing with the couple.
Kabogera. hahaha.
Appetizers were served.
Egyptian food!
Sadly I didn't know they were appetizers so I ate a lot. It was 11pm by then.
Had I know that there was a buffet to follow, I wouldn't have eaten so much.
Still, they were very yummy... oh wait this isn't a picture of food. oh well.
Oh here you go... still, they were very yummy.
Fred.
Everyone was just in a happy mood.
Right girls?
Henna.
Hello!
Emily M.
Even Mrs. Atwell was dancing.
Pretty Henna.
Pictures with family and friends.
The cake has arrived.
Of course, music.
Candles? This wedding is too fancy for candles.
The cake had fireworks instead.
A couple more posts and we're done. It was 5 hours worth of fun. For now, I have to look at other pictures. See ya!
