My First Egyptian Wedding: Erin and Wael Part 1
One of the reasons why I was excited to go to Cairo was because of Erin and Wael's wedding. And getting to know them better here in Cairo made me even more excited to attend their wedding. First be sure to check out the awesomeness that is their wedding entrance here.
The wedding was anything but boring. But beyond the fireworks, the food, the luxurious venue, the dancers, what really shone out was how in love Wael and Erin were with each. It was also great that Erin's family flew all the way from the states to Cairo even if they felt uncertain about the political situation in Egypt. All in all it was a lovely night. As you can see in the pictures:

So I was supposed to meet everyone at around 7. But all the girls were still getting dolled up. So here I am bored and taking vanity shots. I'm sorry. Oh and I got a new haircut. I wanted to grow it long, but the heat was killing me.
Emily M. was nice enough to come down and chat with me a bit while she waited for her tuna sandwich.
It was actually pretty smart because Egyptian weddings start very late. Erin and Wael's started at around 10 and dinner was served at around 11pm(which was totally worth the wait:))
Before leaving the hotel, picture taking with family and friends. Here is Erin's mom, dad and sister :)
Here's the rest of the family:)
Erin's mom is so nice. She gave me some shoe shine when she saw that my leather shoes looked like they've been climbing mountains.
With her bestfriend, sister and cousin.
Cathy and Fred. Fred is Cathy's husband.
And this me and Emily G.!
Did you notice that people have been looking at different directions? That's because there were around 200 cameras pointed at them.
This is Erin and Wael seeing each other right before the wedidng.
Erin's mom looking at the lovely couple.
If you notice, many of the girls have henna. That's because they had a henna party the night before for Erin's bachelorette party.
We went to the venue while waiting for the lovely couple. Look at that stage! Made for a king and queen.
Everyone was getting to know everyone.
People were dressed to the nines y'all.
The venue was luxurious.
I love this art work on the wall.
Emily G!
The couple has arrived!
More pictures in a bit!
