The party continued. :D Side story. The night before Pipo came home at 5am from work. It turns out he overtimed work he could've done the next day so he could be present at the despedida. All together now: "AWWWWW". But seriously thank you to everyone. To Kat and the housemates who organized. To those who cooked, brought food, performed and was simply there. Thank you. Di kayang maipaliwanag ang pagmamahal at pasasalamat na naguumapaw sa puso ko para sa lahat. So much kindness and love should only beget more of the same. Thank you. Uno Sempre!

I've been used to living on my own for the past few years since I moved to Manila to work and study. It is a gift that I found a family in Focolare. For the past 3 years these are one of the many people I've looked to when I've forgotten how it is to truly love. I will forever be grateful to them. Last Friday they surprised me with a going away party. I really was surprised. Sabi nga ni e.e. cummings:
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)
I carry you all in my heart. hehehe. Salamat!

Barbecu and Paella! What I love about being in the office is the food! We always seem to be celebrating something. IT's like a Gossip Girl or The OC episodes where there's always some party going on. And you ask yourself don't these people have anything better to do. Then you realize that you watch because of the crazy weekly parties because you have no life and the characters on TV have become your close friends. But uhm I digress.
3 weeks. Because I don't have the resources to visit my former JVP area in Marbel and emo myself out, I just called on some of my former students who are here in Manila. Most of them live in the south area so we had to meet in SM Mall of Asia. Thus I took a bus, fell asleep and woke up in front of a giant mall covering my view of the sun set.
One of my favorite people in the world celebrated her birthday. Ms. Rica Bolipata Santos was my college teacher for 18 units. And after that, she's been a teacher of life. I am fortunate that our relationship has grown from that of student-teacher to a friendship that's consoling, funny and wonderful. Thank you ma'am.

This is Cristalle Belo. Yes, some JVPs do look like that. hahaha. She heads a line of beauty products so she has to. But really, Cristalle is one of the loveliest people I know, both inside and out. And what a lovely house too! Saktong art gallery lang.

Day 2 of our Bolinao trip found us hanging around the sea a lot. Too bad I didn't have the energy to swim. Perhaps I should be taking this opportunity at swimming since I won't be here for quite some time. Still, it was all good.

Leonard was my JVP partner in 2005. Our partnership and friendship has come a long way. He's about to leave for Copenhagen so this might be one of our last dinners in a while. Who knows maybe the next one will be in Europe?

I haven't really talked about this a lot except to my closest friends. But just so I could get this out of my system and truly start anew, let me put it down in words. I know this is supposed to be a photblog. But hey, it's my blog so I can do whatever with it.
In August I'll be leaving for Fordham University in New York City for further studies. I'll be taking up International Political Economy and Development (IPED). Even before joining JVP, I've always wanted to study in Fordham. It started out shallowly, of course. I think I was more attracted to the prospect of walking the streets of New York right below sky scrapers than the actual study. But throughout the years and my work in different development organizations, as my understanding of the complexity of poverty in the country deepened, so did my desire to study IPED.
It's going to be one long goodbye. It's a time for tying up loose ends. And so I went to Mindoro with Jiza and Jo-ed to visit the current volunteers and to, ahem, visit myself. hahahaha. But seriously, San Mariano has always been very special to me and I'm glad I got to visit one last time.

So this blog is alive again. For some reason I'm allowed to post pics again for free! Thanks blogspot!
The past few months have put me through the most surreal adventure yet. But it'll take a lot of time and words, so let's save that for another entry. Suffice to say that today I got my visa. Shared the rest of the afternoon with my Pancake House family. It's good to be back!
